Adel (Omar Sharif) is an airplane captain who shares a love relationship with a woman named Mona (Nadia Lutfi). Rushdi (Kamal Al-Shennawi), a friend of Mona's family, wants her and has fallen in love with her. He tries to come onto her and approach her several times but she rejects him.
On the day of Adel and Mona's engagement, Adel and Mona's friend, Hoda, have a car accident on their way to the engagement. When Mona calls Adel to see why he is late, Hoda replies to her telephone call. Mona thinks Adel is having an affair with her. She agrees to marry Rushdi, but after their marriage, he treats her badly. He makes her pregnant and after learning she has become pregnant, he hits her, thus making her have an abortion.
Hoda meets Mona secretly and tells her the truth. Shocked by the truth, she asks Rushdi to divorce her. Rushdi plans to kill Mona, but he fails, and his plan was discovered. Mona spares Rushdi from any charges in return for their divorce. She returns to her lover Adel.
